The Origins of the Fed
Rounding off our series on the economic consequences of fractional reserve banking, the Mises Circle will be reading Ron Paul’s “The Origins of the Fed”.
Dr. Paul argues:
The Federal Reserve cartelizes the banking industry, allowing individual banks to inflate together, earning them and the government enormous profits, while making sure that they are never held accountable for their fraudulent practices.
From its shady origins at the infamous Jekyll Island, the Federal Reserve has wrecked havoc on the American (and global) economy. Only through a thorough understanding of Austrian economic theory, however, can one make sense of how destructive the Fed has been since its inception.
